Patients with severely abnormal sperm or who require preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) are not candidates to use frozen eggs. 

How Does SIMPLIFY Select Their Egg Donors?

We’ve created a donor selection screening process that is designed to choose only the very best candidates for our donor egg bank.

You can be sure that your donor has met the following qualifications:

  • Excellent General Health

  • Healthy Body Mass Index (BMI)

  • Non-Smoker

  • College Student or Graduate

  • Thorough Background Check

  • Infectious Disease Screening including:

    • Chlamydia

    • Gonorrhea

    • Syphilis

    • HIV 1 and 2 Antibody Screen

    • HIV NAT

    • Hepatitis B Surface Antigen

    • Hepatitis B Core Total Antibody

    • Hepatitis C Virus Antibody

    • Hepatitis C Virus NAT

    • Zika Virus Zone Screening

We also require the following testing & screening:

Genetic Testing:

Every donor undergoes genetic testing. Currently, all donors are tested using Sema4 Expanded Carrier Screening: https://sema4.com/elements/expandedcarrierscreen/

Detailed Medical Screening:

Every donor chosen for our Donor Egg Bank has undergone extensive psychological, genetic and medical testing.

Psychological Evaluation:

Potential donors attend a counseling session and have a psychological evaluation that includes a personality assessment with a licensed mental health professional as part of the screening process.
